ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi! I’m Kavan Syan: a 2D character animator specializing in expressive acting, clear timing, and clean movement. My work focuses on creating animations that communicate emotion and story through strong fundamentals and thoughtful staging.

I’m currently completing my Animation studies at MTM College of Animation, Art, and Design, where I am building my skills in Toon Boom Harmony, Maya, scene layout, character performance, and pipeline-ready animation workflows. 

My most recent project, "OFFLINE - A Short Film", is a fully animated short film that I directed and animated from start to finish, helping me build my experience in character & environment design, leica reels, shot composition, animation, and post-production. This project has been officially awarded Best Short Film at the Toronto Independent Film Festival of CIFT.

I’m actively developing a broader 2D animation portfolio and seeking opportunities in junior/trainee roles and internship positions where I can contribute to character animation and grow professionally.​
